Q. What kind of whales can I see?
Blue whales are commonly sighted off the coast of Mirissa, especially from November to April. You may also spot sperm whales, Bryde’s whales, and playful dolphins.
Q. Is the whale watching tour safe?
Yes! we partner with licensed, experienced boat operators who follow eco-friendly and safety standards. Life jackets are provided, and the boats are equipped with safety gear.
Q. What time should we start the tour?
We recommend starting around 5:30–6:00 AM for the Udawalawe safari. Whale watching boats usually depart by 7:00–8:00 AM, so we’ll schedule accordingly or arrange a later safari depending on your preference.
Q. Is the tour suitable for kids?
Yes! Both the safari and the whale watching experiences are family-friendly. Just ensure young children are supervised and comfortable on boat rides.
